Provably Fair
Online Poker
Verify Every Hand
The #1 complaint about online poker: "it's rigged." PlasmaPoker answers with math, not promises. SHA-256 hashing lets you verify every single hand was dealt fairly.
Don't trust us. Verify us.
How Provably Fair Poker Works
Four steps. Zero trust required. Pure cryptographic verification.
Shuffle & Hash
Before the hand begins, the server shuffles the deck using a CSPRNG (Cryptographically Secure Pseudo-Random Number Generator) with Fisher-Yates algorithm. It creates a SHA-256 hash of the complete deck order and server seed.
The hash is published to all players at the table before any cards are dealt.
Deal & Play
The hand plays out normally. Players receive hole cards, community cards are dealt, bets are placed. Throughout the entire hand, the deck order is locked — it was committed by the hash in step 1.
The server cannot change the deck after the hash is published without breaking the hash.
Reveal
After the hand completes, the full deck order, server seed, and hand number are revealed in your hand history. This is all the data you need to independently verify the hand.
Every hand history includes the verification data automatically.
Verify
Take the revealed deck order and server seed, run them through SHA-256 yourself (using any SHA-256 calculator), and compare the result to the hash that was published before the hand. If they match, the hand was fair. Period.
PlasmaPoker also provides a built-in verification tool — click 'Verify' on any hand in your history.
The Cryptography Behind the Fairness
For the technically curious. This is the same class of cryptography that secures Bitcoin, banking, and military communications.
SHA-256 (Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit)
- One-way function — given the hash, it is computationally impossible to reverse-engineer the input (the deck order).
- Collision resistant — no two different inputs produce the same hash. Each deck arrangement has a unique fingerprint.
- Deterministic — the same input always produces the same hash. You can verify it unlimited times.
- Avalanche effect — changing a single card in the deck completely changes the hash. Partial manipulation is detectable.
CSPRNG + Fisher-Yates Shuffle
PlasmaPoker uses a Cryptographically Secure Pseudo-Random Number Generator (CSPRNG) to generate the randomness for each shuffle, combined with the Fisher-Yates algorithm for the actual shuffle. This produces a uniform distribution across all 52! (approximately 8 x 1067) possible deck permutations.
This is the same approach used by security-critical systems worldwide. The randomness is derived from system entropy sources, not predictable seeds.

- WSOP: Predatory chip pricing and constant "rigged" accusations
- Every free poker app has this problem. None can prove they're fair.
The Solution: Cryptographic Proof
- SHA-256 hash committed before every hand
- Full deck + seed revealed after every hand
- Built-in verification tool — one click to verify
